Are you familiar with Moss sending the spies into Canaan? Read Numbers 13-14.
There were only two spies that returned and gave a positive report. One of those spies was Caleb. What we learn about Caleb is that he had a different spirit than the ten spies who came back and said that Israel could not take the land God had promised them.
What made Caleb’s spirit different from the others?

He followed the Lord Fully
He had a positive spirit

Did you ever wonder why Solomon wrote, “six things … Yes, seven”? I always wondered why he didn’t just start off with seven. I wondered if God only hates six, what about the seventh abomination. But you cannot be that literal with figures of speech. The ancient way of writing a numerical proverb was as follows: first you select a number, then you connect it with a concept, then you add one for poetic effect. Why? I don’t know. Who decided that poetry was supposed to rhyme? Solomon chose six, connected it with “things the Lord hates” and then added one to make seven.

What I have in my hands is God’s Holy inspired word. In it is revealed the righteousness of God from faith to faith, Rom. 1:17. In it is found wisdom for all ages. In its pages is found God’s scheme of redemption for mankind. It is a book that is annually a best seller and is loved by millions of people worldwide. 40 men wrote the scriptures over a period of approximately 1600 years and it has withstood the test of time. No other book can reveal to us the mind of Christ, I Cor. 2:16. No other book can give us a road map that leads to the gates of heaven.
To many people the thought that anything or any book could be loved or esteemed more highly is nothing short of blasphemy. However, it may be shocking to know that there are books and things of the world that are more loved than God’s word. People will give their allegiance to the Bible but their actions prove their allegiance is not in the word of God.

The diversity seen in the people who came to Jesus should be encouraging to us. The educated and powerful came. So did the meek and lowly nobody’s. They all came with one similarity, spiritual emptiness! They asked questions that were answered. They made requests that were granted. Miracles were performed by the Son of God on behalf of some. Without exception every honest and obedient seeker’s request was honored by Jesus. They all experienced the grace of God.
There is a man who enters the final scene of Jesus’ life
He is only minutes away from dying. We know him as the: Thief on the Cross

For what do you hunger and thirst? Are you hungry and thirsty for the food and water that endure to eternal life?
God reminds us that we often hunger for the wrong things. He is still calling upon us to seek Him and listen to Him; to desire Him and His word.
